What our clients say about us
Rated out of 5 stars based on customer reviews.
- We had an excellent time on this tour! Our guide was Petra and she was very safety oriented and was good about helping us be careful with every step. I liked how we didn’t have to book ahead for this tour, we just showed up, which made planning easy. This is also the only tour operator for this glacier, so that saved me some additional planning effort.read moreread less
Karen Montina8/05/2026Glacier tours was an awesome experience. We had Peach as our guide, she was knowledgeable and made the experience so much fun. Here are some tips and thoughts prior to going:1. You don't need to wear special shoes, they have metal grips that will attach to regular running shoes.2. Pending on the day, be prepared for any type of weather as it is Alaska. Yesterday it was tshirt and shorts weather, and today they were expecting rain and we needed a coat and long pants. So anything can happen.3. Be prepared for a walk that would be around 1.5-2 hours. And be prepared for anything! Yesterday apparently, and iceberg came out of the water, today we heard cracking in the ice. So have that camera ready for anything that can happen.4. If walking on a glacier sounds exciting, I would suggest doing it sooner than later as the glacier is receding every year and the walk out is getting further and further.5. Make sure to bring a water bottle, we had a chance to drink some glacier water, and ended up drinking it for the remainder of the tour.6. I would say most ages can go, but I wouldn't recommend young kids who wander off, or really elderly people as they is still the potential to slip. It is a glacier after all and there is still the potential to fall or even fall into one of the cracks. I brought my family, son 14 and daughter 12, and it was fine. I wouldn't recommend young kids below 5 unless they are responsible.Overall, it is a far place to get to, but well worth it! I put some pictures, but the pictures don't don't do the tour justice.read moreread less

B. Walker7/23/2026Landscapes are beautiful, guides are enthusiastic. Just keep in mind that the 3 hour tour will not walk deep into the glacier, but you will still be able to walk on ice and see all kinds of cool things.read moreread less
胡xinyu7/23/2026The tour guide was really good. He had some useful info for us. We got many chances to walk about (within limits) and take photos. The guide himself also offered many times to take our pictures with our phones. The hike lasts about 2 hours or so. They give micro-spikes that work really well. A few parts involve going up or down some steep parts. It’s not too bad, but I admit: with the group tour, I often had a fear of falling in front of everyone and embarrassing myselfIn all honesty - I can’t give a 5-star rating because, frankly, I found $160 to be a tad too steep. Additionally, the glacier is a lot more begrimed than you’d think, with lots of dirt, mud, and rocks. I can’t tell if its appearance is the result of nature or the tour itself, as tons of people are walking over it every day.It seems a lot of the reviewers post only the nice part of the glacier, with the shiny pristine blue-colored ice. But heads up: a lot of the glacier doesn’t look that wayread moreread less
TheCount OfMonteCristo7/21/2026 - We booked a tour with Glacier Tours for the 4th of July. It was a fun and unique way to spend our holiday! Our guide, Anna, personalized the hike for the level of our group. She was helpful to provide assistance when needed. One of our group members sustained an injury at the very end and she was quick to help get them patched up and called for a ride back to the base. When considering tours I noticed that this tour was cheaper than another company and I was a little concerned about the quality of the tour, but it was great. We didn't have to pay an extra fee to access the glacier, it was included in our tickets. We were provided with helmets and mini-spikes. I would definitely recommend this as an easy way to access a glacier!read moreread less

Gustavo “Gus” Parera7/15/2026A friend from Anchorage recommended this tour so i checked availability in the morning and got a spot for the afternoon. Wow! What an amazing experience. When I arrived at the huge tent, a worker looked at me and said that she was going to wait for experienced hiking people like me to join my group. After a bit of a wait, she offered me my own private guide. Jack was very knowledgeable and took me around the glacier where he wouldn’t have taken large groups. It was perfect in every way. Thank you. Glacier Tours for your flexibility.read moreread less

The prep tent had bathrooms, and they fit us with helmets and assigned us a guide. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel safe and confident on the glacier. Luis Lugo5/06/2026 - Our family thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Just show up with warm clothes and boots and they take care of the rest! We learned so much about the glacier and got to appreciate its size, beauty, and activity up close. Our guide was super kind and knowledgeable. The organization is kid-friendly and we found the 2 hour hike very manageable with elementary age children. My only warning is that you definitely need a 4WD vehicle to get there… the road to get to the set up building is an adventure experience itself!read moreread less

Brittany John4/02/2026Had an absolutely incredible experience with Glacier Tours! The views were breathtaking—it felt like stepping onto an alien ice planet. Our guide, Nick, was fantastic; he was incredibly knowledgeable about the glacier and more than happy to answer all our questions.A word of caution for future visitors: We unfortunately slid off the road while driving on Glacier Park Rd. We were very lucky that the staff managed to tow us out. Please be extra careful and drive slow on your way in!read moreread less
Xiaoyi Peng3/31/2026Very beautiful place and a great guide — the tour itself was really enjoyable. The only downside was that tips were strongly expected. When we paid for the tour, the cashier asked how much cash we wanted to withdraw for tips and mentioned that $20 per person is usually recommended. At the end of the tour we were reminded about tipping again. Considering the tour already costs $160, it felt a bit strange to have tips pushed so strongly. If staff feel underpaid, it might be better to address that internally rather than putting pressure on guests.read moreread less
Yana3/14/2026My Glacier Tour guide "Morgan" was amazing. She was very knowledgeable, attentive and professional. She made the experience that much better.
