Duration:
2 to 3 hours (depending on conditions)
What to Bring:
During Summer months, we suggest you dress in light to medium layers as it can get very warm on the ice, especially during sunny days.
We recommend bringing sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, water-resistant hiking shoes or boots, and rain gear (weather on the glacier can change in a matter of minutes, the more prepared you are, the better).
A light backpack will be enough to store your rain gear, water bottle, snacks if needed, and sunscreen.
Be sure to check the weather before your trek and dress appropriately. Call the office if needed.
Description:
Matanuska Glacier Adventures offers guided glacier tours to the terminus of the glacier.
Spend the day exploring blue and basal ice, in addition to learning about the history and glaciology of the Matanuska Valley of Southcentral Alaska.

The recessional moraine leads to the terminus, where you and your guide will venture into a wondrous world of glacial features including moulins, crevasses, open water streams, and conduits.
